From June 14th to 16th, the Symposium on Underground Engineering and Catastrophe Prevention & Control and the Key Laboratory of Henan Province for Underground Engineering and Catastrophe Prevention and Control, and the International Joint Laboratory of Henan Province for Underground Space Development and Disaster Prevention were held in Henan Polytechnic University (HPU). 38 experts and scholars together attended the meeting.
At the opening ceremony, Yang Xiaolin, the president of HPU, welcomed the arrival of experts and scholars on behalf of the school. He introduced the basic situation of the school and the laboratory and the achievements in recent years, and pointed out the construction of two laboratories of underground engineering and disaster prevention, which will help provide theoretical support, technical support and talent reserve for the sustainable development of underground projects. Yang Xiaolin emphasized that the underground engineering and disaster prevention academic seminar provided a platform for exchanges and learning among researchers and teachers and students, and actively promoted the scientific research in the field of underground engineering and disaster prevention.
During the conference, 10 experts and scholars such as Ren Huiqi, Liu Hanlong, Zhu Hehua, Huang Qingxiang and Shan Renliang made special reports on new theories, new technologies and new achievements in the field of underground engineering and disaster prevention. Finally, the academic committee experts listened to the report on the annual progress of the two laboratories, fully affirmed the construction results of the two laboratories, and also put forward specific suggestions and opinions on the further construction of the laboratory. The convening of the seminar will play an active role in promoting the level of scientific research, social contribution, quality of personnel training, and the depth of integration between the military and the civilian.
